A Pet Project!

Meet our new 'pets' (or should that be 'pests'?!). With a husband who is allergic to most furry animals (and let's face it me, who is allergic to cleaning up after animals!) a traditional pet is unlikely to be welcomed into our household any time soon. But today we collected 3 caterpillars from a friend's vegetable patch and are hoping to see them grow, pupate and finally hatch. I think they will become Cabbage White butterflies - it was certainly my friend's cabbages that were being feasted on. I have provided cabbage leaves for them plus some twigs from which they can hang in order to spin their cocoons.

Fingers crossed all goes to plan. It'll be a lovely (and educational) experience for young Ted if so.
