Comings and Goings

These coneflowers represent all stages of life, from the new green bud to those "senior citizen" blooms that have survived the hot dry summer and are still enjoying themselves. I particularly like the two blossoms in the lower right that seem to be "holding hands," or more precisely, sharing their petals with each other.

We're in transition too, as we're heading two time zones away early Tuesday morning for a brief vacation. One of us is an early and meticulous planner/packer, concerned with every detail, and the other is not. It works out fine in the end, fortunately, but means that I'll be less visible here as the departure day approaches, although I'll still be relishing your photos and words!
