we'll be...
...coming round over the mountains through the Skalkaho Pass at an ear popping 7,260' (2,200m) and down to Philipsburg, population 850 or so.
Founded in 1867 in mining boom times, the Philipsburg area was home to a number of (now ghost) towns including Granite which became the greatest silver bonanza in the world! at the the time.
Now honouring the area's mining history, Philipsbug was once voted 'Prettiest Painted Places in America' and not surprisingly so with buildings like this built in 1888 for the Hyde Banking Company and now offering accommodation and very fine beer, my choice a pale ale 'Otter Water'
It was in fact a day of 'Bs', with
-barns in paddocks (extra)
-bison burger and blipper M demonstrating the french fry dunk in strawberry milkshake (alrighty then) (extra)
and balls bull testicles, munched (leg crossing time lads) annually at the Rock Creek Testicle Festival though not today! Known as Rocky Mountain Oysters and surprisingly tasty when well prepared and yes I have eaten them but many decades ago.
