Vesuvius Store
Backblipping - yesterday was a long day. We had optometrist appointments and a few things to do in Duncan, so we went for an early ferry. Just as were about to drive onto the ramp, the STOP barriers went up and we didn't make it. Somehow it's more frustrating when we're the first vehicle in the line up of cars that gets left behind when the ferry's full. Lots of cars behind us didn't make it either. One of the joys of living on an island! Fortunately we only had to wait just over an hour for the next ferry. We had plenty of time to pick up a coffee at the little Vesuvius store (no need to saturate the colours in this!) and go for a stroll down to the beach, where I noticed the Sanddollar gate in the extra. In the background, you can see the small town of Crofton on the left and the pulp mill on the right.
Optometrist appointments went okay - my eyes haven't changed and G has a cataract which needs to be removed, but he knew that already and will get in to have that done asap. We got a great deal on a printer, so I'll be setting that up today.
