Fathers Day 2012

Although it was 80ish and humid, it was still a great day. We held our party at my brothers new house, including 2 1/2 acres bordering the Flint River. Nice little house in a beautiful setting.

The boys were the stars of the day. My dad (84 years young), is in the center picture with my sister and her family, and in the lower right with me and 2 of my kids. On the other end of the age spectrum is Merrick, my grandson. He is closing in on 20 months. He is in the lower left with his daddy Doug, and with his mom and dad in the upper left.

In between...we had cousin Ryan with a birthday, and cousin Caleb proudly showing his report card to everyone.

I'm proud of my little brother Dave...whose house we were at. He has finally discovered how great dogs are...and little Winnie is a big part of the family. In addition, he and his wife Randa have "adopted" the elderly couple next door. The couple joined us for lunch. Next month they are celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary. YIKES.

Happy Fathers Day to all you fathers. I still think we get hosed in going up against Mothers Day, but if truth be told...it is probably rightly so.
