Too Wet To Fly

My granddaughter at 2:10pm texted me a picture with the words "OMG grandma a hawk with lunch right by the house".  When I was coming home from work at about 5:20pm, it was still there (this is the shot I took).  I think it's a buzzard though rather than a hawk and I think it was too wet to fly away.

The rain that has fallen over the past 3 days beats anything we've had previously.  I had to put my waders (wellies) on and carry the dogs out to a dry spot, that was hard to find, to take them out to do their business.  The water laying in the yard was up past my ankles.  And to think we have tropical storm coming our way too that will no doubt drop lots more rain.
