Brownsea Island
The sun finally appeared at lunchtime as it fined up. We took the ferry to Brownsea Island and walked the wetland route which we hadn't done before. Up near the Villa there were loads of red squirrels. Love to see them, remind me of happy days in Cumbria, and so good they have a haven here. Impressed by Dorset Trust management of the wetlands, lovely hides in great positions.
The ferry back took in the remaining islands in Poole Harbour, what a treat. Soooo envious of the business man who bought Green Island some years ago for a cool £2.5M, and built a fabulous eco 'log cabin' there. Cost was apparently £1M, some cabin! What a spot though.
