The Ladder

There is something irresistible about a vacant ladder. I feel a deep compulsion to climb to the top - except not in this case. It looked all very makeshift and precarious - even for me. I'm not even sure what kind of workman would cobble together his own ladder rather than use a modern extending one. This begs so many stories. I'd love to know.

It's almost as big a mystery as the software performance issues that I've been plagued with this last week or so. I found something last night which might go some way at least towards an explanation. I put a fix in place and the system has run more smoothly today. I'm quietly optimistic. Fingers crossed.
