Kakelot

A surprise when I went into town this morning. There moored by the dockside was this fine timber hulled barque, The Kaskelot. Weighing 226 tons she was built in 1948 at Svendborg in Denmark and carries 17 sails with a total area of 9500 sq.ft or 2895.6 sq.m.  I had a 55-250mm lens on the camera at the time which didn't allow me to include the entire ship in the frame in one shot, so this is actually 3 vertical shots stitched together in Photoshop.
