The church building from Harrods.

Today we returned to Blists Hill and explored further. I found this little church particularly interesting. In the 1900's many of the labourers did not have 'Sunday best' clothes and therefore felt too embarassed to go to church in their scruffy clothes. As the established church did not want to lose parts of their congregation, potentially to the Methodist church. So, these church buldings were available for the working classes as a mail order item! This one came from Harrods and cost £120. It is still used regularly for services, see todays extra picture for a view of the inside.
