Yellow slime mould
Slime moulds are fascinating organisms. When food is abundant, they exist as single-celled organisms but will aggregate together when food is in short supply. They can then start moving as a single body. I found this yellow slime mould deep in the woods this morning, it seems that the heavy rain has started to break it down.
