A permanence moves on

This photo today is my normal sight when I enter the business lounge on arrival here at my hotel. Francis has been the manager down here for at least eight years. He is always on hand to help us with our enquiries from directions to a building, through assistance ifunwell, and once a year he helps me with my Chinese pronunciation before I read out the student names in the Graduation ceremony. He told me on arrival yesterday that he is leaving. So it's kind of a sad day for me and other colleagues who just expect Francis to be there exactly like this blip.

I shall wish him well tomorrow with a tinge of regret that our personal help is gone. Everyone is helpful here but you get used to some people and build up quite a relationship with them. It is a positive move for him so I hope he makes a success to whatever he next turns his attention.
