Fans

I am a collector of things that catch my attention or tickle my fancy as my wonderful grandmother Jennie used to say. I started collecting fans when my next-door-neighbor gave me one as a gift. Nona (Anna) was like a grandmother to my young sons while we lived next to her in Michigan. Our family was a very long car ride away. Her fan was from her home village in Italy, it is the beautiful black fan with the city as its adornment. The two fans that have the same style wood along their sides are from China. My youngest son brought those home for me. He traveled this spring to tour China with the Wesleyan Choir. Each of my fans is a gift that I very fond memories that they bring to mind whenever I open them.
