Echinops

We've been on holiday for a week,  and this is how our echinops opened in 11 days. Interestingly, other flowers in the garden have opened more quickly -I wonder why. Perhaps they get more sun - I think that this plant only gets sun in the morning, but I think the other one gets sun in  the afternoon too....
