Pushing the limits

Day 5 of SLR-Free period - and hopefully the last.  I have heard that my 5D and 24-70 lens are on their way back to me fully repaired.

I decided to test the Sony to its (and my) limits.  I wanted to take the sort of shot that is really easy with the 5D.  My off-camera flash transmitter is fully integrated with the 5D with ETTL metering (= Evaluative Through The Lens Metering or fully automatic flash exposure)

I decided to try the transmitter with my Sony.  As there is no ETTL I needed to get my head around manual flash settings.

The subject was a rather nice branch from a local oak tree that I sprayed with water
 
I think possibly a bit more depth of focus would have improved it but it's not bad from the little camera
