There’ll be . . .
. . . or maybe not
No birds around at the moment, never mind blue ones.
Can hardly see cliffs, never mind white ones.
Tomorrow? We’ll just have to wait and see.
Or
Best laid plans and all that
After many, many years of regarding Dover as just a ferry port, somewhere you hurtle into at the last minute and get straight onto a boat, this time we thought we would take a more leisurely drive down, stay overnight and see a bit more of the place. Walk along the cliff tops and by the sea perhaps.
Only we arrived . . . in the rain! And it continued to rain.
We did actually find St Margaret’s Bay, the closest point on the British mainland to France, had a lovely meal right by the sea at The Coastguard and then had a blowy walk, watching the tremendous waves. Hope it calms down a bit before the morning!
