Bambi
The road which runs from one end of the island to the other is a monstrous thirty kilometres long so obviously there is every likelihood that travellers might need a rest stop partway along the route. This is the roadside service station owned by Babish. Besides selling petrol, diesel & lubricants, it also serves beer and spirits at the little tables just by the forecourt where, naturally, you may also smoke.
The name Babish is short for Haralambos in just the same way as Nikos is short for Nikolaos, Kostas is short for Konstantinos and Mitsos is short for Dimitris. The curious way that the letter 'B' is constructed in Greek means that Babish and Bambi are spelled the same way. Be warned, people called Haralambos do not take kindly to being called Bambi to their face.
