Not okay!

The printer has being doing weird things.  It was working fine, then suddenly starting printing only the bottom half of a page.  I did all the troubleshooting maintenance I could and now it isn't printing at all, even though the test pattern for ink works perfectly.  Really ticks me off when I can't figure something like this out.  I've sent an email to Canon and received a reply saying I would hear back in 24 to 48 hours.  If I can't get it working, I guess I'll have to buy a replacement.  We've had this one for just over 5 years, no problems at all until now.
Exactly a month after the 3 year warranty on our coffee maker expired, it started smoking and emitted an awful burning smell.  I took a chance, called the company and was given a grace period to return it.  I'm expecting a label from them so I can send it back, postage paid.  If one of the company repairmen examines it and finds it faulty,  we'll be sent a new one.  I think smoking and burning are good indications that it's faulty!  I was surprised to be given the grace period.
So two things have given up the ghost.  They say that things happen in threes.  I wonder....
