A Truly Wonderful Day!
We have had the most wonderful and special day witnessing the marriage of our much loved Jen and Pete. We arrived in Skipton at the Registry Office to be met by the marvellous Bliparazzi and, as I was banned from having my camera (!), I am so grateful to them for the fantastic blips which are arriving by the minute in my e-mail. Thankyou to Corinthian Column for capturing us with daughter Becky and my sister-in-law Mary. Thank you to JeanneB53 for a fun moment! Thank you to YorkshireBred for blipping a special moment between Jen and Pete with Best Man and good friend Matt looking on. Thank you to Airedale Knitter for a blip which reflects the spirit which continued throughout the day. MrJohn was supremely kind in accompanying us throughout the day, which included being summoned by the Registrar! I managed to make him put his camera down in the evening and have a dance with us! Friend Verity, who had opened her garden in the morning for the flowers for the bouquets must also receive our thanks and love.
The Registrar was a star and made the formal ceremony enjoyable with much laughter. The mini bridesmaid shield maidens did an excellent job of protecting the newly weds with swords and shields, and the older bridesmaids looked radiant.
We drove to Cracoe Village Hall where we met with old friends and new (Brother Rog and sister-in-law Anne joined us from Boston and we also met Brother Bob's partner Sandra) and danced the night away to the fantastic Ceilidh band. The recent weeks of preparation: cooking the food, decorating the Hall have brought both families together in a very special way.
We have to be up very early to whisk Jen and Pete to the airport for a much needed holiday in Venice and the Dolomites so all the photos will have to wait. When we have come round I will link to all the many fabulous photos!
