Checking out the Queensferry Crossing

(posted on 23 August)

An opportunity this evening to get close up to the Queensferry Crossing towers, (200 metres high), and learn more about the project from those directly involved.  A cruise from the Hawes Pier, with a delicious BBQ buffet.

We cruised beside the towers, then over to the Rosyth Dockyard to see the deck sections and massive reels of cable ready for installation. Then westward as far as Culross before turning back and admiring the three bridges as the lights came on.

I was disappointed that it rained, and was overcast, after such a good spell of weather, however delighted to be invited.
