Day 7: Uig - Glencoe

We sped through Skye to make our last ferry of the trip. We were a little under-whelmed by the landscapes- I think if we'd started the trip here it would have seemed far more impressive. The roads were much busier than we were used to, and realised we'd left behind the remoteness we'd got used to. We were treated to more dolphins on the ferry and another smooth journey. Once we reached the mainland we drove to Glenfinnen to see the viaduct made famous by the Harry Potter movies and had yet another toasted sandwich in an old railway carriage. Our home for the night was a cabin in remote Glencoe, and we gladly sat outside in the late afternoon-sunshine with a beer watching a strange little bat flutter around. We were conveniently located ten minutes walk from an excellent pub, and we spent our evening playing pool, drinking lots of ales (and a wee dram) and listening to the live folk music. A walk home in the pitch dark was an excellent, fun way to end the day!
