In the 70's someone planted a pretty little rockery conifer a few feet from the house. 40 years later it's a monster and someone who shall remain nameless put a Tree Protection Order on it when the previous owners asked to fell it.
When we tell people it has a TPO on it, they use a selection of 'invectives of choice'.
Last year, we also asked to fell it and that got refused. So we appealed; a process for which we were allowed a matter of days to write a case.
The government allowed itself eight months to reply but, at last, common sense has prevailed.
There's a queue of people who want to come and watch...
