How to make desirable undies

While delving in the loft yesterday I found a Shrewsbury Chronicle dated May 26th 1933, price 2d. It is full of very blippable articles and adverts to which you might be subjected when an emergency arises. There are fascinating things like  "Our Indian Empire" and reports of the Women's Institute where there was a demonstration on "How to re-cover an eiderdown", the competition being a knitted beret.

I finally settled on the Women's World section of how to make vest and pants - I wonder if I could scale them up and make them from the suggested winceyette? After I've made the "Useful Slip" perhaps. I'm sorry that I couldn't fit the whole column in - I'm sure that you'd want to know the cure for tight fitting shoes (dust feet with borax and anoint any blisters) or to eat onions to cure eruptions of the skin.
