Today's the day ........................... for a break in the weather

We fell out of bed early this morning and took the Eurostar from St Pancras through the tunnel and off down through France. 

We were expecting sun and hot temperatures as we went - but all we got were leaden skies and heavy downpours.  In fact, the TGV came to a halt at one point because severe storms had disrupted the power lines and we had to wait for it all to sort itself out.   But eventually we made it to Aix-en-Provence where our friends Diana and Guy live.  This is Diana on the stairway of her beautiful house - just before the heavens opened and the rain came lashing down again. 

One way or another we're feeling very much at home here ..............!
