Chicklets

The eleven chicks are still thriving, and the mother is quite relaxed about us going into the pen with them to feed them.  I love seeing their tiny wing feathers develop.  The chicks mimic what the hen does, learning to take soil baths, and they will only eat something once they have seen her try it & thereby learn that it is safe to eat.

It's been a lovely warm, bright day today, just a bit breezy.
