Not all houses are alike.
This is Bramhall Hall. Building first started in the 14th.century but what we see here is a splendid Tudor residence.
It is proof that not all of the houses in the great southern suburbs are limited to 3 bedrooms. The Hall was the home of the Davenport family for 500 years. In the twentieth century large parts of the estate were sold off for housing development but there is still an attractive park and a lake.
The Hall now belongs to Stockport Borough Council and is at present undergoing a major refurbishment with Heritage Lottery funding.
