The Last Vulcan 234/365
The last Vulcan Bomber at The Dawlish Air Show. I wasn't very close to the action this year, but I thought that this was a poignant enough shot, especially given the terrible events elsewhere. This last flying Vulcan is going to be grounded at the end of this display season, a great shame, but it is the reality of operating this magnificent 1950's era nuclear bomber. The Olympus engines howled as the mighty delta winged machine flew a few hundred feet off the deck for the last time here. £10,000 was raised in one week to ensure it's appearance. £1,000 came from the Ashcombe Village Club.
