Calm After The Storm

The clouds broke and the sun appeared for a while just now. I could actually see across the fields to Duns for the first time in a while.

We had flash floods at Crunklaw last night and my farmer neighbour's chickens were all drowned as a cascade of water flowed off the fields, through the hen house, over the road, down the bank and into the little stream, which became briefly a roaring torrent.

It's all gone now though. I wonder where.
