A bird's eye view
Popped up to Rob's this afternoon with the processed photos I had taken yesterday of the rifle. Hadn't done my blip and thought that I would take one from their front lawn of their Tarawera view, but was sent climbing up the hill behind the house for a pretty spectacular view. Took and 8 shot hand held panorama, and merged them in Lightroom.
What was a bit disturbing was the sight of so many yellow flowering wattles. These arrived as seeds in bags of oats from Australia (where they are native) which were used to feed the horses prior to the eruption in 1886. They have been spread by birds and now when they mature, they outcompete and smother native vegetation. There are some programs in operation now trying to get rid of the wattles, but it is a huge job. And at this time of the year when they are flowering, they cause allergies....I know I get very blocked up and have sore eyes.
...and huge thanks for all your stars and hearts that has put Rob on the front page of popular...always a thrill.
