Clarkie's peace

Clarkie's funeral was a true celebration of a life well-lived - he would have approved, I'm sure.  And he would have laughed heartily at all the stories and memories that were shared between friends of some of his adventures over the years.  For a man who had risen to the professional heights he had, he sure did have some very iffy adventures!  But I guess those things are what helped create the man he was - brave, positive, can-do, curious, ground-breaking, humble, loving, genuine and passionate.

Purewa cemetery and crematorium, close to the heart of the city, felt like an oasis of peace a million miles from the bustle.  This fountain garden was the backdrop to the service, and it was a special sight to see several birds including a tui, take a bath in it as we remembered Clarkie's life.
