Walk With The Dogs and A Win

At 10.30am we left the house on foot with the two dogs we are dog-sitting. The weather was sunny and humid, as we walked about 2.5 miles to the edge of Rudry Woods, then along Ruperra Ridge to the top of The Iron Age Hillfort overlooking the Bristol Channel (and Cardiff) down to the Iron Bridge in Draethen where I took the two photo's.

The bridge was constructed in 1829, paid for by The Morgan family of Tredegar House, Newport so they could travel by horse carriage from there to Plas Machen Manor House and their church (their family burial vaults are there) in Lower Machen, which dated from the 12th Century.
(The extra shows a pic of this grade 2 listed structure, among some of the first constructed in Britain).

After letting the dogs swim in the water by this bridge we walked in sight of Plas Machen,  towards home. A good lovely five miles or so.

When I left home at 4pm to watch the Cardiff v Wolves match, Mrs BB was sat outside with the dogs enjoying the sun. A thunderstorm put paid to that, and luckily we stayed fairly dry at the match as we enjoyed Cardiff's first league win, 2-0!
