Goldenrod

Solidago is one our beautiful fall-flowering plants in the Asteraceae family. It is otherwise known as Goldenrod, and is native to most of the lower 48 states. I am not familiar with how to distinguish the different species, but they all appear to be good nectar plants and attract small butterflies and other insects. Perhaps my Monday photo will be of a bug on a goldenrod.
