Pope Joan

Another wonderful hand by Philip Jackson, this time belonging to Pope Joan.

This week is the Arts and Drama festival in Midhurst, called Madhurst. There is an arts trail which takes in this wonderful sculpture in the Parish Church. I’ve seen it before, but it never fails to impress me with its air of piety. How does he do it?

This is the full size working model in preparation for the bronze, height 76”. It’s been made in 5 editions so far.

The arts trail ranges from pre-schoolers art in the supermarket to this amazing figure. Lucky Midhurst.
