Sunday: Slap

So we learnt a new word today.  The Croatian for waterfall is 'slap'.

We drove out to one of the national parks today, about an hour outside of Zagreb.  The landscape was stunning - almost alpine with little huts on top of mountains.  I almost expected to run into Julie Andrews!

With our usual forethought and planning we discovered that the information office was closed on a Sunday.  We knew that there were waterfalls in the park so just decided to follow the streams and see where we ended up.  I tell you, trackers have got nothing on us.  For my next trip, I shall follow piles of animal spoors and see where that leads me.

As you can see, we found the slap.
