Big Adventure!

Off on the bus for a day in Newcastle!  Spent a lot of the time looking up at the old buildings.  At street level you tend to mostly see the shops, rather than the actual buildings, with their different styles and decoration. The favourite had to be the Central Arcade, wonderfully ornate!

A fair bit of shopping was accomplished, a couple of coffee stops, and an explore of St Nicholas cathedral. Churches seem to be featuring large on our excursions, but they are all so old and interesting and each one different in lots of ways.  Lots of photos of stone carvings! I did like the modern war memorial window very much too.

A final browse round Waterstones and then back to bus station.  Managed to get the front seat upstairs on the double decker back to Rothbury!  Great views and very exciting at times too!

Exhausted with the heat and the walking round but a great day.
