Kelpies

Lorna took me to see the 'world famous' Kelpies, which until now I had only seen while driving by on the motorway. They are definitely most impressive and photogenic. But the story behind the historical/mythical kelpies is a bit less benevolent than you might think. They were malignant water spirits, disguising themselves as horses, appearing before weary travellers. When the travellers would either touch them or try to get on them, they'd find them selves stuck on the horses without ways of getting loose. And then the kelpies would get to a deep source of water and drown the unlucky travellers there! So beware of kelpies :-)

The internet connection in the hotel we're staying in is not the very best and we have to get up early to catch our flight back, so I'm going to be lagging behind again, sigh. P.S this appears to be my 900th consecutive Blip, hurray !
