It' s time for short coffee break
To be honest I'm always glad to see the artists who perform like living statues. Must be a pretty hard shift to staying in one position for a long time period. All those guys deserve every pound in their pocket, trust me ;-)
It' s always nice to see "the original living statue" and it's another great aspect of Edinburgh' s Fringe. Most of the people admiring those performers in the streets during these days. I would like to pay a tribute to them by the picture which is represented by Mr. Estevan Mortensen during his very short break.
He has been displayed on front page of Monday' s The TIMES (Scotland Edition). Really original shot was taken by Scottish photographer Lesley Martin in late evening' s light conditions.
Today I met him (Mr. Mortensen) near the St. Giles cathedral. He took a decent break during his hard shift. I asked him for a pose at that moment.
We spoke for a while. This guy is originally from Spain but he is living and working in south of England. He is a painter - sculptor. Of course everyone should recognise that fact about his job and creativity because his original bicycle pedal performance.
I remember him from the beautiful Somerset' s town of Bath when I saw his impressive "living statue performance" for the first time one year ago. He told me a few interesting things about his hard job ;-) Staying here in Edinburgh for the whole Fringe festival, he is working everyday until the end of the August. Fingers crossed for your successful Edinburgh' s mission mate ;-)
I would like to pay the tribute to all original "living statues" from Royal Mile by his photo. They all deserves a few breaks per day during their hard shifts, especially when they are standing in the streets full of tourists. They are facing the masses on their tours for taking a personal records and sharing a lot of memorable moments from the "VideoSquare" ;-)
Anyway, ANNA CALVI & Heritage Orchestra were great together yesterday night. I was enjoying all the concert where impressive guitar playing and powerful vocal of Anna Calvi was supporting by the beautiful choir and strings of Heritage Orchestra. And I couldn' t forget even her own band who took a part in this beautiful gig during the EIF. Glad to be there, glad to hear one of the most beautiful voices from the new generation of British singers (sorry Scots). If you will have a chance to see her live, don' t miss it. Here in Edinburgh, it was magnificent 70 minutes of pure musical desire.
Have a great weekend everybody who is following me or even stopping by here for a while. And huge thanks for your comments, stars or favourites during this week. Much appreciated for that ;-)
