Adam at (nearly) 18 years
Adam turns eighteen years old next Thursday, but as he is going away tomorrow and won't be with us for his birthday I wanted to get a photo of him to record him at this milestone birthday.
Having a birthday on 27th August means he has always been very young for his school year, which starts on 1 September. When he started school a few schools would not take him in the correct intake year, they wanted him to go back a year. We knew that would not be right for him to be held back a year and we have been proven right.
Tomorrow morning Adam and a group of his friends (there are twenty of them) are going to France for a week where they are renting a very large house in Bergerac. Why Bergerac, I asked, it's in the middle of nowhere for a bunch of 18 year olds - the answer was it was cheap, and I suspect the only place where a landlord was foolish enough to rent his house to these young people. Meal times will be interesting, I know how much food these guys can eat and I feel sorry for the poor girls who have to cope with grumbling, hungry men. I have four of those grumbling, hungry men staying over tonight as we live quite close to Gatwick so it is easier for them.
And yay, sunshine at last! Today has been hot (I won't dare complain that it was too hot...) and sunny, and tomorrow it is even hotter with the weather pattern being a consequence of the Spanish plume.
