Flower Friday

This is a particularly nice wattle tree in full bloom at the edge of the lake. It looks deceptively like its a nice day doesn't it! Actually it was freezing, raining, windy, bursts of thunder, lightning, hailstones and more rain, hopefully it will all be gone by tomorrow!!

In the background you can see the trees where the ibis are nesting. One of their biggest nests is visible with about 15 birds in there all at once as they participate in a kind of communal cackle session! :)

Not sure how it all works for them but I will be coming back in a day or so with the big lens to have a more intimate look! :))

My extra is a beautiful Hakea Pincushion flower which is just beginning to open. Once opened they do look like pincushions as the name suggests. ;o)
