Chained mazet

Suddenly it's summer - time to shut the shutters in the afternoons, to shut the windows too, to keep the heat out while the whole village falls silent and even the children are quiet, but later to enjoy sitting in the garden having supper as we did yesterday evening until the sun went down. This morning we noticed there were fewer flowers out, the late spring flowering is over now, the plants are beginning to die back and we've been lucky to have some rain to keep them going for so long. The vines are bright green, though, and growing well, it seems.
