Penshaw

We had a National Trust day at Washington Old Hall (the ancestral home of President George Washington's family, and from where they took the family name). Fascinating place. After that we walked up to the Penshaw Monument (or 'Elsa's Palace' as Arwen called it!). We stopped off down in Durham for a BBQ tea at my sister and brother in law's house. Lovely to eat outside. It's been a tough summer for that.
