Hairy Woodpecker

We saw this woodpecker and thought it was a Downy, but it was so much bigger than any we had seen before. I looked it up and it seems that it is a male Hairy Woodpecker. For years, I would see a woodpecker and never identify it; now with my camera, I can look back closely and figure out what it is. I love this new time of learning.
