My present read
Most books in the library are bought at one address, a distributor for all libraries in the Netherlands. That company makes sure the book gets a protected hardcover, a chip, a little card with description and an entry in the national catalogue. This is very time consuming, so it can take some time before a book finally reaches the library.
So if we expect a book to be very popular we sometimes make a purchase directly at the local bookstore. These books have the name "sprinter". Unlike the 3 week borrow time as other books have, these can only be borrowed for one week only.
Our central library in Utrecht city centre has more of these "sprinters" than the branches I work at. This book by Harper Lee was borrowed at the central library, but returned at ours. My chance to grab it!
