morning ablutions

I was blessed to grow up in a family that loved the richness of words.
My father especially liked to dress up the dailyness of life in fancy terms. His bath was called "morning ablutions," a walk after dinner was called "postparandial ambulation."
Mom also had a colorful vocabulary using terms such as "penurious," and "cacophony."
Even my older brother threw in the occasional zinger. One day he exclaimed, "I can't believe I just masticated a brussel sprout!"
They are gone now, but their love of words lives on in me!
