Spider

A quick blip from my mum's garden.

I don't know what sort of spider this is because they aren't included in our insects book. I mentioned this to someone in our walking group a couple of weeks ago and she pointed out that spiders aren't insects they are arachnids. Insects have a head, thorax, abdomen and six legs whereas arachnids have two body segments, eight legs and no wings or antennae. I never appreciated the difference.
