This was a first for me.  

Alex and I had to put together his brand new Ant Farm today, being that the ants arrived a bit early in the mail yesterday and the box had "Open Immediately" written all over it.  Alex was great, helping with the farm set-up, but when it came time to pour the active little 'stinging ants' into their new home, he did not want to be hands-on.  What a challenge this proved to be!  I'm crossing my fingers we have recovered all the ants that escaped during this fiasco, and if not, I hope the escapees die before they bite.  The rest of the day, Alex kept a close watch on the very busy ants and even told me "mom it's like watching a movie!"  I'll have to admit, it is extremely fascinating to watch them work and Isaac and I had fun adding commentary to a few of their feats.  Hopefully we can keep these guys alive for at least 3 more weeks so they can make their debut at his birthday party.  Here are a few more of the farm.
