~A Prickly Pear Cactus~

~Seed Pod In The Making~

This is whats left of the cactus flower stem, one dried up yellow pedal lays at its base. The seed are forming in side the red structure, and in a few week it well be swollen and ready to fall to the ground. Desert creatures will them consume and spread the seeds. And then little baby cacti will propagate the surrounding area, for me to bump into and hurt me!
Ouch!!!
