Unfolding

Today was wet and rainy. It didn't stop us from taking the kids on a hike around the mountain behind us. Ava found part of a deer jaw, with the teeth all still attached, and I found a huge snapdragon plant in the middle of no where. There was a ton of bird song and the air was fresh with the smell of rain, damp earth and sweet flowers.

In the afternoon I took the kids to the library where they happily flipped through book after book for over an hour. I'm going to sign them up for the Summer Reading Program where they can win prizes for the amount of books read and also participate in all kinds of fun activities.

I neglected to bring my camera anywhere with me all day and so missed lots of photo opportunities. So instead I walked across the street and took some pictures of the lovely roses in my neighbors front yard.
