Happy Birthday Your Majesty

What a fabulous day we have had today. Mrs Boyzee managed to get us some pretty good tickets for the Queen's Birthday Parade at Horseguards (aka Trooping the Colour). Here is the birthday girl just off to inspect those on parade prior to the actual 'trooping' of the Colour. This year it was the turn of the Coldstream Guards. It seemed a perfect day for it - not too hot (so no fainters (certainly none that we saw!!) and the rain managed to hold off, bar the odd drop!

For me the highlight was seeing the King's Troop Royal Horse Artillery. I know the Commanding Officer very well as he had the office next door to mine in our last jobs and one of his Troop Captains was a junior officer in my last Regiment - so it was good to see them both leading the proceedings today (The Royal Horse Artillery is right of the line when its guns are on parade - a fact that is too difficult to explain and will mean something to some people and nothing to others!!!)

Whilst we weren't too near the Queen once she was on her saluting dias, we were a very small stones throw from the PM and Sam Cam who were sat about 50 feet away from us!!!

It was also fantastic to see Prince Phillip, not only up and about, but also escorting the Queen on this fabulous occasion.

I will endeavour to put some more blips into my Blipfolio as it was so difficult to decide which one to choose from today.

Lets try this... A few more.....
