Owl

I'm not usually a bird photographer, but I attended a talk on raptors that was quite interesting. Some of the birds were then on display, so I could take a "wildlife pic" without actually traipsing around in camo in the wild ;)

The organization that sponsored this is a 'rescue' organization, in the business of looking after raptors who got injured in one way or the other. That was the case of the featured owl, not more than 10" high, who had an unfortunate encounter with a car and lost one of its eyes. It's also in the process of molting, giving it that 'bed head' look. There were others, much more beautiful, but, call me a sap, this one was my favorite :)
